The Power of Creation

I thought that I thought I like an innovator, then Peter Thiel wrote Zero to One (2014). I read this book during my first full summer of entrepreneurship at the Ivy Research Council (IRC). Thiel’s seemingly contrarian assertions on the necessity of monopoly power over competitive capitalism in the development of new technologies helped to mold my thinking as we strategized back at IRC.   We no longer wanted to be the nth competitor in an established market, we wanted to be a market maker, a monopolizer, a new creation.
